Deborah Race appears regularly in various state and federal appellate courts, as well as state and federal trial courts. She has been board certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1989. She is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and all Texas state courts. She formerly served as a briefing and research attorney for the Texas Twelfth Court of Appeals. She is a graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry (B.S. 1976) and The University of Houston (J.D. 1982). She is a charter member of the T. John Ward American Inn of Court. She was recently appointed to the Board of Disciplinary Appeals by the Supreme Court of Texas. She is also active in the community having served on several community boards, including The Hospice of East Texas and PATH.
